Abstract
Wood Waste Into Biojet Fuel: Supply Chain Logistics for Biorefinery Siting
Track: Infrastructure
Authors: natalie martinkus
Traditional logging operations leave unmerchantable wood in piles to be burned. This work shows how Network Analyst is used to assess existing pulp mills as potential biorefinery locations through their ability to procure wood waste at a marginal cost. Discussion will include: development of fixed costs at the forest landing and variable transport costs; the use of Global Warming Potential (GWP) as a cost to assess the GWP of the supply chain; and lessons learned along the way.
