Portal can have a transformative impact on gas operators. Ohio Gas Company undertook a project to convert all legacy paper/tabular data into a GIS. This process spanned 10,000’s of documents, 100’s of miles of assets, and a variety of office and field workflows. At conclusion, OGC migrated operations into Esri’s Portal and associated software. This presentation focuses on the real world specifics of approach, lessons learned, challenges, and successes associated with this multi-year effort.
