Integrating GIS into Resource Stewardship Strategy at Big Bend National Park

The National Park Service is undergoing a resource stewardship strategy (RSS) effort to develop a planning framework for park unit level resource management.This talk covers lessons learned from integrating GIS data and analysis with active resource management decision processes within the RSS. A demo project was used for the Big Bend National Park RSS to demonstrate GIS in resource management actions. A baseline of GIS activities was established that can be adapted to fill management needs.
