Informing Census Outreach With the Response Outreach Area Mapper (ROAM)

The ROAM application was created with Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS to make hard-to-survey areas easier to identify and to provide a socioeconomic and demographic characteristic profile of those areas. Understanding the characteristics of an area allows for the creation of local, informed communication campaigns and helps U.S. Census Bureau management plan field resources to improve response rates. Portal for ArcGIS allows us to easily build tools for internal use and for public data dissemination.
