Mapping the History of Miami Allotment in Kansas and Oklahoma

Within our tribal community relatively little is known of the era of allotment that occurred in Kansas and Oklahoma after being removed from our homelands. Spatial analysis and historical ecological research was conducted in order to educate our community. This spatial research has already sparked positive conversations within the community, indicating the influence geospatial research and cartography have on expanding and embracing the importance and understanding of cultural heritages.
