Crime Analysis Near Colleges and Universities Using Spatio-Temporal GIS

This paper explored the spatio-temporal cluster patterns of crimes near colleges and universities within the city of Detroit. Crime frequency within neighborhoods have been explored and hot spot including emerging hot spot of crimes near colleges and universities have been identified. The results of this study showed the distribution of crimes within the city limit. In addition, the emerging hot spot analysis showed that more cold spot with different emerging types were present.
