Spatial Analytics of Transit Origin / Destination Data

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority has over a years’ worth of origin / destination data from its own trip planner. Analyzing this data will assist transit planners with route and facility optimization. Time of day trip planning can assist in transit resource allocation. Additional analysis of the 2017 on-board survey origin destination data allows for a weighted view into ridership. Visualizing data analysis is demonstrated using hexagonal tessellation and heat maps.
