A Citizen Science Approach to Tule Elk Herd Health and Rangeland Stewardship

Esri GIS software, including Collector for ArcGis, provides unprecedented data collection ability and accuracy for the annual tule elk count at The Wildlands Conservancy’s Wind Wolves Preserve. The data collected in the field by staff and volunteers provides vital feedback on the success of habitat improvements and rangeland enhancements designed to bolster the health of the Preserve’s tule elk herd.
