Abstract
Using GIS to Model Pipeline Spills and Map Impacts to High Consequence Areas
Track: Infrastructure

The US Department of Transportation(DOT)requires all pipeline operators to identify pipeline segments that could affect High Consequence Areas(HCA.)The process of HCA segment identification varies according to the commodity type and dispersion/transport mechanism considered. This presentation is about how Chevron Pipe Lines defines HCAs in geographic context using ESRI technology & provides an overview of different GIS-based analysis methods which are used to determine HCA Could Affect Segments
