Using GIS to Track and Catalog Cross-Bore Prevention Sewer Locate Documents

Consumers Energy, has executed a “Cross Bore” prevention program since 2012. This program consists of an aggressive pre-construction sewer locating protocol, which generates multiple documents per sewer lateral (individual line from the sewer main to the building. Through an ArcGIS Online workflow, the sewer contractor is now instantly uploading their content from the sewer inspection directly to the Web-Map. This has reduced the lag time in document exchange from a 7 day with paper to > 2 Hr.
