ArcGIS for Risk Assessment by Resilient Urban and Regional Planning in Ecuador

The study attempts to understand the nature of the socio-spatial transformations experienced for the last 20 years by the tourist central coastal region. <br /> By the combination of the townscape analysis (urban morphology) (Conzen, 2004) and the GIS technology, a method was designed and tested to describe and measure the quality of the urban growth of the settlement system by overlapping shapes of statistical and spatial information of the years 1990, 2001, and 2010.
