Adapting the Hazus Hurricane Wind Model for Puerto Rico

Hurricane's Irma and Maria caused devastating impacts to Puerto Rico. In the days immediately following the two events, efforts to attempt to estimate the scale of damages from hurricane winds and storm surge flooding we incredibly challenging. Since these two events, FEMA's Hazus Program is working to fully adapt their Hazus wind and storm surge loss estimation models for comprehensive coverage for Puerto Rico.
