Abstract
Impervious Surface Mapping of New Jersey
Track: Infrastructure
Authors: William Smith
NJDEP is developing an automated workflow to map statewide impervious surface including building footprints, hard impervious surfaces, and soft impervious surfaces using imagery from 2015. This process is set to replace the usual workflow of visual estimates. The purpose of this project is to develop an automated impervious mapping workflow, and apply that workflow to generate a statewide impervious surface layer that can be incorporated into the NJDEP land use/land cover vector GIS data set.
