Multi-Agency Mosquito Surveillance, Control, and Reporting

Mosquito surveillance efforts have increased in Denton County with the presence of West Nile and the emergence of the Zika virus. Each agency manages their own surveillance and mitigation data that are sent to the county health department. Trap locations, spray routes, larvicide deployments, and mosquito data are managed by the GIS team. Agency coordination is integral in keeping the public informed about local mosquito status and empowering agencies with relevant spatial information.
