Abstract
Frames for the Future: Modernizing the National Spatial Reference System
Track: National Mapping
Authors: Dana Caccamise, William Stone
NOAA's National Geodetic Survey is engaged in a comprehensive effort to modernize the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS), in support of technological developments and accuracy requirements. Part of that effort is defining four new Terrestrial Reference Frames that will replace NAD 83. The goal is to provide a modern, accurate, accessible, and globally aligned positioning framework exploiting the power and utility of the Global Navigation Satellite System, for both today and tomorrow.
