The Vital Role of Collector During California's October 2017 Fire Siege

The Fire Siege that occurred in October 2017 became the most destructive and deadly wildfire event in California's history. Providing accurate data and information to the public and affected jurisdictions was critically important. This presentation will describe how CAL FIRE's Damage Inspection Teams filled that need in a timely manner to provide feedback to thousands of evacuees desperate to know the status of their homes, and how local agencies used this information to begin recovery efforts.
