Using Story Maps to Boost Citizen Engagement with Open Data in Local Government

Using ESRI Story Maps the City of Tempe's Enterprise GIS and Open Data team has found success boosting citizen engagement with open data through the use of well designed cartographic narratives. Among internal management as well with the city's residents, such narratives have shaped ongoing dialogues regarding the city's efforts at becoming more transparent in its operations, releasing more open datasets and refining its strategic management priorities.
