Track: Non-Profit
Authors: Kathleena Mumford, Christine Fellenz
Using spatial analysis tools, remotely sensed data, and innovative cartographic methods, the Humanitarian Information Unit at the US Department of State efficiently produced useful graphics and impactful analysis to senior decision makers during the Rohingya refugee crisis in the fall of 2017. This presentation discusses the workflow and data considerations the team used to accurately portray the situation on the ground and provide a value added to the information already available.
