WWWGIS: A Study of Implementing GIS on the World Wide Web

There is an ever increasing amount of GIS resources available through Internet. The World Wide Web, with its use of graphical browsers and hypertext, makes an ideal place for accessing resource lists. But, putting actual GIS functionality on the Web presents a complex task. This paper documents the effort by the City of Ontario, California, USA, to do that.
