Zoning Maps
Until mid-1994, all zoning maps were updated by hand-inking onto the existing
hand-drawn mylars. Now, all zoning maps are kept as coverages in the
GIS database, and full-size (36"x42") mylars are plotted out periodically
for people needing blueprint copies. Minor changes are made to the mylars
by hand, with technical pens. Major changes require a replot of the entire
map.
We also have plotted out a set of
11"x15" copies for photocopy reproduction. The smaller copies are not
merely a reduction of the larger sizes: the words in the legend were
illegible when reduced, so the legend had to be redesigned for the 11x15
pagesize.
