As part of the ongoing effort to get useful city information into the hands of its citizens, the City of Stockton GIS Division has developed an electronic information kiosk. The kiosk, featuring a touch-sensitive screen, utilizes ArcView Version2 and Avenue to allow users to navigate smoothly through an information network of views featuring maps, charts, text and photos. The kiosk provides information and answers basic questions on various city services and programs available to the people of Stockton. Information on public officials, after-school programs, Neighborhood Watch programs, and the location of city services such as fire stations, libraries, parks, and community centers are a few of the topics addressed.
