Extending ArcInfo Using DLL

Dynamically Linked Libraries (DLL) offer a powerful method for users to customize and extend the capabilities of a software package. This is made possible by enabling users to link in their own C and FORTRAN functions into executables at run-time. This paper discusses the benefits of this technology and explains how users can write C and FORTRAN functions to extend Unix ArcInfo.
