Migrating a Large AM/FM Application to ArcInfo on Windows NT
Over the past several years, Southern Company Services has been developing and enhancing a set of AM/FM/GIS applications using ArcInfo on UNIX workstations. Our company has recently adopted Windows NT as its standard desktop operating environment, so the introduction of ArcInfo on Windows NT started an effort to migrate existing applications to this platform. This paper examines the issues involved in moving a major application from UNIX ArcInfo to Windows NT.
