Developing a Cadastral Framework

Defining Issue: Integration of a cadastral database for the State of Utah. Project Description: The Utah Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC), as part of the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Framework Demonstration grant program, is conducting a project that will be a collaborative effort between the State of Utah AGRC and other State agencies, the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service, and numerous counties in Utah. The objective of this project is to create a seamless 1:24,000 or better scale cadastral database for the State of Utah. In meeting this objective, the project will determine how to efficiently integrate the most accurate, complete, and correct ("best") cadastral data and its derivatives from various identifiable sources. This is an actual on-the-ground project that demonstrates how to inventory, classify and integrate, certify, correct, and disseminate cadastral themes for PLSS, ownership, and boundaries. This presentation will discuss ArcInfo and ArcView tools used for project management and execution.
