The Status of Land Records in Wisconsin and Implications for Land Use Planning

Through a series of detailed county-focused surveys over the last five years, the Wisconsin Land Information Board has assessed the State-wide status of land records modernization by local governments. We will report new results from these surveys. With recent and dramatic State government efforts in land use planning, we are also beginning to ask questions about the relationship between land information and land use planning. In particular, we are looking at how State-wide planning efforts utilize existing land information systems and what limitations currently exist.
