Esri and Library of Congress Collaboration in the Center for Geographic Information

Esri has been a member of the Library of Congress Center for Geographic Information since the center's inception in 1995. Working with many firms in the GIS and related industries, Esri has been helping the Geography and Map Division in its transition to the digital era of cartography and geography. The presentation will focus on potential applications for GIS for the use of Congress. There will also be a demonstration of the National Digital Library Program for Cartographic Materials, an effort supported by many firms that is converting the Library's rich collection of electronic maps into digital images that can be used in GIS applications and distributed via the Web.
