On the Development of an Intranet-Based GIS Application within a Large Electric Utility
Like many large companies, Southern California Edison has devoted considerable resources to developing a robust multifaceted Intranet application. The Geographic Information and Analysis Systems, (GIAS) group at Edison realized early on that the intranet held vast potential for meeting client need and for achieving the group's business goals. This paper details how Esri software was utilized to develop a sophisticated Intranet-based GIS application, and how this application has positively impacted work processes.
