Implementing GIS on the Web for Business Advantage in Real Estate Industry
The real estate market is rapidly growing and changing in central European countries such as Slovenia. The privatization of industries and general trend of transition from public or government to private property generates significant momentum in the market. Over the last two years Internet and Web have also been widely accepted in Slovenia, reaching over a critical penetration level. In that setting, GIS and the Web can provide a significant competitive advantage. The paper provides an overview of experiences in integrating different spatial and attribute data and GIS and Web functionality for providing information services to Realtors and customers via the Internet.
