TGS Lite-An Integrated Geoinformation Solution for Small and Medium Size Operators with Esri ArcView GIS
Telecommunications require a comprehensive GIS system support. For a large telecommunication company it almost automatically means that GIS itself is a multitier client-server system that supports business applications or at least communicates with them. But medium and small size telecommunication operators cannot afford huge investment in GIS technology. The answer is an application that covers virtually all aspects of spatial functions in the telecom business. One such product is "TGS Lite." It is based on the Esri ArcView GIS software package. This paper describes how "TGS Lite" deals with business requirements within a telecommunication company: key features and tools used, data requirements, business processes, and so forth. Authors are experienced in development of supporting tools and applications for telecommunication companies and understand both business and users' requirements.
