Utilization of ArcInfo GIS in Los Angeles International Airports Environment
The Los Angeles Department of Airports (LADOA) Noise Management Bureau (NMB) has developed a complex system known as the Aircraft Noise Monitoring Management System (ANMMS). This system provides data to make informed decisions regarding airport operations and environmental impacts. The GIS component of the system is used as the final step in collection of data and reporting of data. The ANMMS relies on many hardware and software components to feed data into the GIS system. This paper will focus on the Application Development Framework (ADF) or the Map Generator Program (MGP) as the LADOA and Esri developed the programs. The paper will focus on the development history, its relationship to Oracle, and the larger ArcInfo product line.
