Optimizing Routes for Picking Merchandise within Warehouses
One of the ways a merchandise distributor can cut costs is by optimizing the storage and retrieval of merchandise within its warehouses. Esri has developed an application that uses route optimization algorithms and digitized warehouse plans to reduce the operational costs required to gather merchandise for outbound deliveries. The system is a first step toward optimizing both the inbound and outbound movement of goods within a warehouse.
