The Value of Partnership to Your Project
In the past the players involved in implementing a successful GIS project typically involved the customer/end user, software provider, hardware provider, independent consultant, and data conversion services company. All operated independently, with the customer accepting responsibility for pulling the pieces and the various participating vendors together. Today, this scenario quite simply no longer works. Because of the increased size, scope, and complexity of today's GIS projects and the inherently greater risks, organizations are looking to partner with technology providers to help ensure the success of these undertakings. The dynamics of the contemporary business environment demand a return on investment and the mitigation of risk. This presentation focuses on the concept of vendor-customer-consulting partnerships as a collaborative approach to adopting and implementing technology. Through collaboration, the strengths of all parties can be combined, resulting in an outcome that is greater than the
sum of the inputs. Several Esri project examples will be used to demonstrate how partnership helps the end user achieve increased efficiency and cost savings, while at the same time opening new markets, uncovering new streams of revenue, and building lasting personal business relationships of mutual benefit.
