The Concept GeoPres 97
The concept GeoPres '97 has been delivered from the GeoPres project to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) on 25 March 1997. FMV will on demand deliver GeoPres '97 to the various C31 systems in the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF). The GeoPres '97 consists of a development environment and an end user map tool with GIS capacity. The development environment is built up from MapObjects combined with more tools from the GeoPres API. These extra tools are developed from the special demands of the SwAF. The environment for the end user consists of ArcView version 3.0 in a "slimmed" version. Some functions are hidden because they are not needed all the time. There is also a map tool with all the functions that is developed by MapObjects and the GeoPres API. The concept will automatically be more and more fulfilled during the time when various C31 systems are developed. GeoPres '97 will be used in operational level, tactical level and some other platforms where it is suitable to implement such a
tool. GeoPres '97 will be able to be used in the Swedish civilian defense and also in international missions. We will be pleased to give a background to you in San Diego about how we came to choose Esri products for our concept GeoPres '97.
