David A. Cobb

The Massachusetts Electronic Atlas (icg.gas.harvard.edu/~maps/maatlas.htm) offers Internet access for the display and query of spatially referenced data for the Commonwealth's 351 towns. Combining academic, private, and public data resources, the atlas is a collaborative effort creating a unique interactive Web site. The atlas provides a variety of alternative and nondecennial data sources including data from the following subject areas: communication, crime, economy, education, employment, environmental regulation, health, income, physical features, population, race and ethnicity, real estate, transportation, and voting. Using ArcView Internet Map Server software, current interactive functionality includes zooming, panning, turning layers on/off, and simple spatial querying.
