GIS and Environmental Modeling: A Tutorial Paper Text

The Gaussian solution of the advection-dispersion equation is used to model the transport of a small volume of pollutant injected into an aquifer. The model parameters are obtained from a GUI created using the Dialog Designer extension in ArcView GIS. The GUI controls execution of the model, retrieves the results, and displays and analyzes them using ArcView Spatial Analyst. This was used as a laboratory exercise for the upper division course in GIS, Environmental Analysis with GIS, at UC Davis.
