Exploring MapObjects with GIS Application Program
Xiaoyi ZhangUsing MapObjects with Visual Basic, we are able to develop a series of GIS applications. For example, Q3 Viewer, which is a lightweight FEMA Q3 coverage/shape viewer with a full set of Q3 symbology; GPS Elevation Certificate, which is a sophisticated ODBC, image process, layer overlay, GPS tracking, and document printing application; Flood Determination, which address matches with FEMA Q3 database to find 100-year flood zones; and Flooding Status Database, which is an Internet ActiveX application. Users can graphically select a state/county/CID to query FEMA status databases.
