Airborne LIDAR Mapping and GIS Integration

This paper will discuss airborne LIDAR operational considerations in design, data collection, data processing, and application development. Examples of research and current methods in the development of digital terrain models (DTMs) from LIDAR derived data will be presented. Integration into a GIS and automated topographic analysis techniques will be examined.
