Snow Fighter - Snowplowing Work Management Solution Using Esri GIS
William EmisonThis paper will detail the use of the Indianapolis Snow Fighter application, which uses a custom user interface to input information into a database, automatically track equipment and employee costs, and use a real-time map for the management of snowplowing activity across Marion County, Indiana. The application assists managers in redirecting snow crews to those areas of the City where significant plowing is necessary. Users also have the capacity to quickly ascertain the financial cost of plowing streets for a particular snowstorm.
