Our study focuses on the effects of El Nino induced changes on geomorphic processes in the coastal zone of Oregon. To better understand these changes, we are acquiring and georeferencing video images at the beginning of the El Nino cycle (early autumn 1997) and at various dates throughout the winter of 1997-1998. Video images are tagged with GPS locations, indicating the nominal center of each frame. Selected images are captured and rectified to real-world coordinates. These images were used with other GIS data layers in ArcView GIS to update and measure the effects of coastal processes.
