Design and Implementation of Addressing and Street Centerline Cleanup Tools Paper Text

Geoffrey B. Ehler

The single most important supporting data layer for GIS applications at the City of Indianapolis is a positionally accurate street centerline network complete with reliable address attributes. A critical aspect of this issue is to establish a clean and complete listing of street names and address ranges within the City that adheres to the adopted addressing standards. This paper will focus on the design and implementation of automated QA/QC tools developed using Visual Basic and ArcInfo to facilitate centerline cleanup and the ongoing maintenance of accurate address information within disparate City-wide databases among the enterprise.
