Modeling Land Use Scenarios Around the Denver International Airport Using Environmental, Transportation, and Development Constraints Models

David Murray

Various land use alternatives are modeled for an area approximately five miles around the new Denver International Airport. The models make use of the desktop functionality and analytical abilities of ArcView GIS Version 3.0a. Scenarios will be developed using five-, ten-, and fifteen-year projections. The integration of transportation, environmental, governmental, and development data will be the basis for modeling parameters. Various modeling methods will be compared to arrive at the "best" predictor of future land use patterns.
