MapObjects on the Desktop Versus MapObjects on the Internet
Denise BartowMapObjects applications written for the desktop might need a significant rewrite to make them suitable for use on the Internet. This paper describes the criteria for evaluating MapObjects desktop applications for porting to MapObjects IMS. Included are estimates of client-side programming for HTML, ActiveX, or Java. A development methodology is discussed that allows MapObjects desktop applications to be run on MapObjects IMS.
