Combined Terrain and Spectral Reasoning Methods

The U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) uses digital photogrammetric workstation (DPW), remote sensing multi-spectral imagery (MSI) system, and GIS technology for rapid mapping of digital terrain data. We are integrating these commercial systems for combined terrain and spectral reasoning methods to automate the digital image-based mapping of terrain feature data. This paper describes the system design, methods, and results of that work.
