Technology as the Catalyst for Cross-Enterprise Organizational Change

The Cincinnati Area Geographic Information System Consortium whose membership includes all City, County, local utility, and other local jurisdictions in Hamilton County has been successfully implementing GIS based on the Esri platform and Integrating other information technologies on a massive scale. The GIS technology developed by the Consortium is providing seamless integration of a broad range of information technologies at the desktop with interfaces that allow even the most casual users can be productive. Desktop GIS users have access to a broad range of integrated GIS technologies, enterprise databases, document management, integrated voice, video, digital orthophotography and other information technologies. Integrated GIS technologies are being embedded throughout the Cincinnati/ Hamilton County local government, utility and aligned private agencies and is currently being used daily by hundreds of employees throughout the public safety, environmental, service, building, housing, planning and utility disciplines.
