Florida Hydrography and the Framework

This project is a Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) Competitive Cooperative Agreements Program (CCAP) project, funded through the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, which tests the integration of the 1:24,000-scale hydrography data into the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). The project tests the ability of the reach code to telescope across different resolutions of data and identifies any shortcomings or problems. A goal of the project is to provide guidelines that can be used by others to enhance the developing NHD using more detailed, higher resolution data, while maintaining the link to the lower resolution national data. This is a continuing project, with the first year start-up funding provided by the FGDC CCAP. The focus to date has been on transferring reach attributes from the 1:100,000-scale NHD to the 1:24,000-scale Digital Line Graphs. Although the CCAP grant period is over, the project team plans to continue work on the project.
