A Web-Based GIS for Recycling Markets

A Web-based GIS for recycling markets in Texas is presented. The development of the GIS includes the creation of a database containing county boundaries, recycling markets, and information about Texas manufacturers, as well as the development of an interactive graphic user interface for information query and report generation over the Web. Our initial experiment shows that a combination of ArcView GIS, ArcView Internet Map Server, and the World Wide Web is a powerful and convenient environment for delivering geographic information over the Web.
