An Investigation of Dynamic Simulation: The Integration of ArcInfo with Air Dispersion Modeling To Facilitate Data Handling and Visualization

The objective of this research project was to design and implement a dynamic simulator, that would facilitate the data handling and visualization aspects of air pollution dispersion modeling. Methods were developed for directly linking the U.S. EPA dispersion model with ArcInfo GIS. The Geographic Pollution Prediction Simulator is the agglomeration of a carefully designed interface and powerful air pollution model. This workbench of tools has been shown to be an effective teaching tool allowing what- if scenarios to be easily modeled and visualized.
