Transferring GIS Data Between Differing Systems

We have written pairs of programs to convert data between two GIS systems, ArcInfo and VISION. Neither system supports the other's format as an output option. The original suite of programs was written in perl to take advantage of perl's memory management and built-in database capabilities. These programs were subsequently converted to C for speed. All programs capture all of the information in the "from" system and, within the limits of the "to" system, generate load file(s) for automated transfers including an AML program for ARC loads.
