Implementing an Internet-Accessible Application of the National Hydrographic Dataset

In cooperation with USGS, USEPA, and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, CARES participated in the creation of the National Hydrographic Dataset (NHD), a conflation of the best attributes of both USEPA's River Reach Files (RF3) and USGS's hydrographic Digital Line Graphs (DLGs). Once the NHD data were available, an Internet-based user interface was created using ArcView GIS and Internet Map Server. This interface allows anyone with Web access to query and view the NHD for the State of Missouri.
