A Taxonomy of Telecommunications Planning Tools

This paper will seek to establish a means of categorizing telecommunications planning tools. Of particular interest is the useful and reliable description of the tools needed for telecommunications planning and how well those needs are addressed by currently available planning tools. Attention will be paid to those categories of tools that currently have no commercial product and are well supported by applying GIS products (for example, planning and operating virtual networks).
